The show is hosted by the comedian and actress Sommore, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Comedy.”. The comedian and talk show host Arsenio Hall, who has recently returned to stand-up after a lengthy break, will headline.

‘GARDEN OF LAUGHS’ at the Theater at Madison Square Garden (March 28, 8 p.m.). Steve Schirripa hosts this enormous stand-up show to raise money for the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a Madison Square Garden-affiliated organization that works with children’s charities around the city.

TODD BARRY at the Bell House (March 16, 8 p.m.). Barry hosts this special show to celebrate “Thank You for Coming to Hattiesburg: One Comedian’s Tour of Not-Quite-the-Biggest Cities in the World,” his new book of travel essays documenting his life on the road as a stand-up comic. He will be joined by Janeane Garofalo, Joel Kim Booster, Sam Morril and a special guest.

‘DAVID MAMET’S THE NEW DAVID MAMET PLAY’ at the Highline Ballroom (March 7, 8 p.m.). The veteran improvisers Hunter Nelson and Terry Withers take on the dramatic stylings of David Mamet in this show, which they cheekily claim is a workshop of that playwright’s latest, ever-evolving script. Performing at a pace to match the brisk tempo of Mamet classics like “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “Speed-the-Plow,” Mr.

TODD BARRY at the Fat Black Pussycat Lounge (Mar. 1, 8:30 p.m.). Barry is a one-of-a-kind comic — a droll, low-energy stand-up who uses meticulous pacing both to tell brilliantly funny personal stories and to relate carefully reasoned observations. He’s also famous for his crowd work, embarking on an entire tour with no prewritten material and relying on audience interaction for the whole show, sedately titled “Todd Barry Does His Hour.”.

Mike Brown and Brandon Collins celebrate five years of their expertly curated stand-up brand Comedy Outliers, which also includes a podcast and the pop culture-themed showcase “Pop Americano.”. BULLSEYE COMEDY NIGHT at BAM Harvey Theater (Feb. 11, 7:30 p.m.). “Bullseye,” the NPR-distributed radio show and Maximum Fun podcast devoted to pop culture, presents this night of comedy as part of BAM and WNYC’s RadioLoveFest. The podcast-heavy show is hosted by Guy Branum, host of the podcast “Pop Rocket”; performers include Hari Kondabolu of “Politically Re-Active,” Phoebe Robinson of “2 Dope Queens,” Maeve Higgins of “Maeve in America,” and the very funny stand-up Solomon Georgio.

JIM JEFFERIES at the Beacon Theater (Feb. 4, 7:30 and 10:30 p.m.). A native of Australia, Mr. Jefferies hit it big in the United States with his FX sitcom “Legit” and a hard-hitting routine about gun control that went viral. His material is a combination of blistering topical musings on religion and politics and often lurid and crude tales of his own life, now mostly focused on the world of fatherhood.

JOHN EARLY & KATE BERLANT: 555 at Joe’s Pub (Jan. 31 through Feb. 3, 9:30 p.m.). Early and Ms. Berlant are stand-ups with a knack for the off kilter; Mr. Early’s comedy is more autobiographical, with diversions into absurdism and musicality, while Ms. Berlant’s is a character study in one-liners that skirts the edges of nonsense.

DARK SPOTS at Union Hall (Jan. 26, 8 p.m.). Shane Torres, Nate Fridson and Alison Zeidman host this comedy showcase for some of the city’s best stand-ups to perform “their darkest, saddest and most traumatic — but still funny — material.”. Joe Castle Baker hosts this alt-comedy variety show as part of Ars Nova’s One Night Stand series of one-off performances for interesting, eclectic artists. Baker and some comedian friends — Ruby McCollister, Jaboukie Young-White, Mo Fry Pasic, Tim Platt and Lorelei Ramirez — promise to “make beautiful poetic sense” out of life, via dance, stories and songs.

50 FIRST JOKES NYC at the Bell House (Jan. 6, 8 p.m.). O’Donnell hosts the 11th edition of this yearly creative stand-up show, which invites dozens of comedians to perform the first jokes they have written in the new year. Each comedian is given only a couple of minutes to perform, with their fellow comics all sitting on the stage waiting for their turns.

SANDRA BERNHARD at Joe’s Pub (Dec. 30, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.; Dec. 31, 9 and 11 p.m.). Bernhard returns to Joe’s Pub for her annual end-of-year run with her new show, “Sandra Monica Blvd: Coast to Coast.”. For this one-woman show, she crisscrossed the country in search of “the soul of America.”. With some help from a “soundtrack you might hear on an AM radio station you pick up from Oklahoma,” this cabaret comedy promises a mix of quick wit, heartfelt stories and catchy tunes.

DAVE ATTELL at Carolines on Broadway (Dec. 28, 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 29-30, 7:30 and 10 p.m.). A stand-up comic for nearly two decades, Mr. Attell has had an eccentric career path, including a short stint as a writer at “Saturday Night Live,” a turn as a contributor on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” and time as the host of the late-night travel show “Insomniac With Dave Attell.”.

LOUIS C.K. at Madison Square Garden (Dec. 16, 8 p.m.).
